fashion design graduate
Hey it’s ya girl Nimi!
I’m a BA Fashion Design Graduate from Norwich University of the Arts and I’m based in London. I’d say that I’m a designer, creative and super stylish fashionista! Informalties aside, fashion has been my lifelong passion and I’m happy to say that I am officially qualified in fashion. My concept ideation mostly focuses on drawing in attention to certain details and I tend to focus on contemporary wear using a range of colour and texture.
Aside from designing, I enjoy listening to music, taking photographs on my digital cam and socialising.
what i do
Designing and Styling
Technical
Apart from designing, I make prototype versions for the outfit making sure the fit and silhouette is exactly the way I want. Additionally this gives me room to make mistakes and certain design changes
Photography
I create cohesive collections for ideas, I may have; making sure the colour scheme, the textures and details match the idea.
I also style which garment would go with which and pick (and/or make) the accessories that would go with it.
I organise my own photoshoot with a professional photographer and sometimes take my own photos for behind the scene work or aesthetics. I direct the aesthetic of the shoot, source models and sometimes edit the photos.

projects
Focused on Tailoring for this project.
Started out with the Jersey Moulage project which I practiced draping on the mannequin; then did the Denim Project which I made an outfit using minimal seams and making a pair of jeans in which the fabric was kindly donated by Bossa Denim and Mohsin Sajid; Finally the outerwear project, in which I made a an oversized blouson made out of boiled wool with metallic foil print, an encrusted collar and a print lining
Beginning of my Graduate collection.
The first phase of my graduate collection, which focuses on cyber futursim in relation to the future of fashion and drawing influences of molten metal. Focused on asymmetry and using different textures, fabrics and silhouettes.
A final collection that illustrates my skills as a graduate designer and this would be shown at Graduate Fashion Week.
